HAITI - Wednesday 2/13/13

Today was a special day. It started with frantic preparations to host the Ladies Bible study in the main room of P1, so we could work in the big bathroom and use the 8" blocks that were in there that the ladies were sitting on. We cleaned up P1, made seats from the 4" blocks, and used boards for benches. Marc and some of the guys went over and carried the two old ladies who could not walk back to the orphanage so they could participate. (We have not been able to locate any wheelchairs here yet.) Charles and John led the service, Pastor Villebrun from next door was there, and our own Pastor Andy gave a message. The singing and prayers were so wonderful, as usual. We ended up with 100 ladies and lots of kids. After the service we gave them each a snack as they filed out. They will be back tomorrow, as we continue this ministry that the Lord has put on our hearts and has become so important to us.

Bill and the medical team headed off to Pastor Felix's to screen the kids there, and it was back to business for the construction guys, with the usual block and bucket brigade hauling stuff up to the DH second floor.

Jody and Scott continued with the plumbing, running the water line from outside into the DH first floor bathroom and then cutting 4" holes for the toilets on the second floor.

The last block was layed, on the column that will support the inner corner of the slab that the DH water tank will sit on, dedicated to "Kings and Queens" (Audio Adrenaline).

The work of filling the cells with grout and rebar followed close behind, fed by Marc, Wowo and David at the mixer (thanks again Lance!), Jody cutting rebar, and, of course, the bucket brigade!

Meanwhile Bill and Andy started with the central wall in the big bathroom.

Tomorrow the water and vent lines will go in there, and over at the DH we will start forming the bond beam (relax, Gail, the rebar assemblies are already done!).

This team has been so productive that tomorrow afternoon, after the ladies Bible study, we will go up on the mountain. It turns out that no one on this team has been there, despite many of them coming here multiple times.

The Lord continues to bless us in every way, and every day we are seeing more amazing results of every aspect of the ministry He has led us to here, medical, children, construction and outreach. Praise His holy Name!
