Medical Clinic

Our team had a great first day in Villeta, Colombia.  Even though we had a short night of rest on Saturday,  our team was up and ready to serve on Sunday.  We attended a local church called Iglesia Bautista del Sur.  There were about 50 people in attendance. 

One of our team members, Jason Holmes,  had the privilege to preach on the scripture Acts, chapter 20.   He did a great job!

After the church service we had lunch and then immediately began setting up the medical clinic to get ready for the people that were to be seen.  

There were several volunteers that helped our team tremendously during the clinic.  Because of the great organization of our national partners, our team was able to see and minister to more than 70 people!  

Each person met with a doctor,  received medicine and vitamins, and received  biblical and spiritual counseling.  Many people that do attend church were invited and several people trusted Christ as their Savior!  What an awesome day!  

The medical clinics will continue on Monday and Tuesday... Stay tuned for our next updates!  

Guatemala Sponsorship Update, November 2014

Sponsored Children and Families Visit the Center!

It is that time of the month again! Our precious little ones who have left the center returned for their monthly visit this week! All of the children who are being sponsored were able to come back to the malnutrition center and receive a food basket and get a check-up with the doctor while their parents received some advice and training!

On Tuesday we had a special meeting with all of the sponsor kids' parents. In the meeting we reinforced what the sponsorship program is about. We explained that the reason we want to see their children healthy and well, is because we care about them so much! 

We talked about their roles as parents and caregivers, and answered any questions they had about the program.

Gloria, our social worker, taught the parents how to make a vitamin based meal using the nutrient rich powder that is provided in their monthly food baskets. This is a gift that each family receives as a direct result of your sponsorship monies each month!

We had some newly sponsored kids come to the meeting, and it was amazing to see how well they are doing! A few of them we hadn't seen in over 3 years! God is good! 

After the meeting, all of them received their November food basket. Scroll through these photos to see some of the beautiful, happy, and healthy faces we encountered!

PLEASE NOTE: Some children didn't come on Tuesday because they live farther away; for those special cases, parents will come every three months to pick up a a food basket with 3 months worth of supplies inside.
