Wednesday was an eventful day for all the groups at the Center!
The Canaries really had an exciting day with the arrival of three new children! Maria was the first to arrive at the Center today and was dropped off by her sweet mother and big sister. By the end of the day Maria was starting to settle in but was still missing her mom. In other news in the Canaries room, Maria is doing quite well with her feeding. Yesterday she took three whole bottles and today she was taking food from a spoon!!! Maria has a cleft palate and is working on gaining some weight so she can be eligible for surgery. Thanks to the tender loving care of our team members and the nannies, Maria is on her way to 10 pounds! She is more active and has been kicking her feet and “talking”! We do have three children in the Canaries with fever so we are asking for prayer that they get well soon!
The Bunnies and Chicks also had a big day! The Bunnies had two new arrivals from the Canaries with Edwin and Carmen moving up! And Alex moved from the Bunnies to the Chicks! Maria Asuncion is also doing really well!!! She has been walking more with the help of nannies and team members and is willing to stand up longer with some help! Praise God for her improvements!!!
The Ducks and Squirrels made some of the best crafts ever! Cat faces and bear faces!!! They also made a trip out to the pavilion to play with sidewalk chalk.
Our construction crew made great progress on the ceiling in the laundry room. The old tiles were taken down and the metal framework is being fixed. It is going to look great when finished!
If spending time with the most amazing kids in the world isn’t reason enough to come serve at the Center . . . we have some great cooks preparing meals for our team keeping us energized. Tonight we were spoiled with homemade chicken pot pie! Yum!
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and we are all looking forward to spoiling the kids with Valentine's Day crafts, hearts and lots of love!
