Happy Valentine’s Day from everyone here at the Center! We
had a wonderful day celebrating God’s love!
The Ducks, Squirrels and Chicks were treated to a Valentine’s Day party
in the Comedor today! We started with a Bible
story, sang Jesus Loves the Little Children and Jesus Loves Me, played relay
games, got goodie bags filled with candy and new toys, then ate tostadas and
ice cream cake!!! The Ducks and
Squirrels also made Valentine’s hearts with their pictures to hang near their
beds.
The Canaries were blessed this week to have a speech
pathologist and a pediatric nurse loving on all the babies and helping the small
Canaries eat. Just another way God
brings the right people at the right time to the Center to help the children
here. Ana (one of the newest Canaries)
went to the hospital in Guatemala City today for a check-up. She has a hole in her heart but the doctors
are hoping that the hole heals by itself by the time Ana is two years of
age. The good news is that she has
gained 15 ounces in the last 8 days!
Maria, who arrived yesterday, is starting to settle in. Thank you for your prayers! She did well with eating today and even spent
some time playing with her fellow Bunnies!
Our construction guys worked hard all day and got the
ceiling done in the laundry room. The
metal framework is perfect and new tiles were installed. The guys’ “WOW! Moment” for the day was when
the ceiling was done and all the tools were put away!
It was a fitting end of our time with the children this week
to spend tonight, Valentine’s Day, reflecting on the love that was poured out
on the kids, the love the kids poured out on the team and the love Christ has
poured out on the world!
