Yay! The long awaited day has dawned…We set out early this
morning for the Malnutrition Center. The hour long ride gave us valuable
information about Guatemala’s agriculture and cultural diversities and
traditions.
We were greeted with dozens beautiful smiling faces. My heart melted when I saw all those familiar faces I fell in love with a year and a half ago. The team played, sang, and changed tons of diapers. We blew bubbles and gave lots of hugs. We also saw how God’s grace can heal and change lives when a young mother came with her pastor for a visit.
This is a special place. The Center’s staff and interpreters, Alejandra and Olivia, are “Angels in disguise.” We came here hoping to be Gods hands and feet…The children are His Heart. I am so thankful to be here. This was another day I will remember for the rest of my life…and it is only day 3.

My first experience at the Malnutrition Center was exciting
and yet also scary. The children were expecting
us and greeted us with lots of “holas” as we toured the facility. I was assigned to the older girls, and they
were smiling as we came in to help them get dressed after their shower. But the scary part was they talked to me and
I did not understand them, and did not know how to answer them. I wish I had more Spanish skills, but their Nannies were there to interpret and
we communicated in many other ways.
I felt so blessed when I was helping put the girls down for their nap and they all reached out for hugs with the words “Macha” which is a shorthand word for "Love You”. The language of love transcends all other inadequacies. Tomorrow will be great!

Thank you so much for the info and the lovely photos. Those children are so beautiful, and it's wonderful to see their once sad eyes now sparkling with joy and vitality. God is healing their bodies and their hearts. I' m guessing it is maybe the mother of Gerson and Andres who came to visit? If so, that is a pure work of grace. God bless your time there. Your visit means so much to the children.
