Lunch at Pollo Campero - Q 36.00 (Guatemalan currency)
Guatemalan coffee - Q 15.00
Checking zip-lining off my bucket list in the beautiful country of Guatemala - PRICELESS!
Our adventure in Guatemala began with sight-seeing, zip-lining, coffee tours, horseback riding, eating authentic Guatemalan food in downtown Antigua, and, of course, shopping.
Once our first full day in Guatemala came to an end, our vacation was over, and it was time to get to work.
Our team split up into different rooms depending on which age group we wanted to work with. We spent our morning assisting the nannies with serving breakfast, bathing the children, clothing them, and doing various leg and arm exercises with the kids. Once all this was done, we did it all over again for lunch.
After the kids have eaten lunch, they lie down for a nap. After nap, an afternoon snack is served and more exercises are done with the children. Around 5:00 it is time for the night routine. This consists of feeding each child, changing their diapers and clothes, then it is time for lights out.
This is the twelve-hour daily routine that the nannies here do six days a week, with one day off to see about their own families.
This trip is giving me a new appreciation for my life. and making me realize that I always have so much to be thankful for.
"Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus." - 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Praying for all of you....thanks so much for the enlightening blog post.
