Dominican Republic - Alabama Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries (August 2 through August 8)

Tropical Storm Bertha tried to hold us back this week but to no avail!  In fact, we have a new record!  The walls up on FIVE HOMES in FIVE DAYS!!!  Actually, in four and a half days . . . which means we got to spend Thursday afternoon at the beach!
Thankful for another awesome week with the Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries!

Tropical Storm Bertha passed over the eastern part of the Dominican Republic keeping the majority of the wind and rain away but we still got some pretty good downpours on Saturday.

Getting some work in between rain bands!

Making new friends.

The kids made it over to the community transformation center in between downpours so we had some time to play inside!

Morning prayer time with our mission team and national construction crew in the community transformation center.

All the rain is gone!!!

Looks like someone got a hold of a marker!

Great progress being made!

Playing with the kids during a water break.

Bracelets and bubbles!  Can't get any better than that!

The whole team!

 FIVE HOMES!

We had the opportunity this week to throw a pizza party in the community transformation center for our construction workers.  Many of these men have only had pizza a few times in their lives so it is considered a real treat. We used the packets of styrofoam blocks as our tables!  Great time of fellowship!

Pastor David doing a devotional for our team and construction crew.

GREAT times with new friends!

Reward for finishing the walls on 5 homes in 4.5 days . . . the beach!!!
