Dominican Republic June 28-July 4, 2014

WHAT. A. GREAT. DAY!!!

We started off the day pouring concrete!  (There is no better way to start the day!)  The walls on house 17 are officially finished!  The CCHS team works great together, so we got Home 17 finished quickly and began laying the second four courses of blocks on Home 18.

Our Dominican crew got the roofs on 2 more homes today, is working hard on the electrical in the CTC, and is laying out additional foundations!!!  We were thankful that God provided us with some good cloud cover for the majority of the day.

After lunch we had a Bible story time with the kids.  Today was the parable of the Good Samaritan.  We had team members play the parts of the man traveling, the Levite, the priest and the robbers.  One of the neighborhood kids played the part of the Good Samaritan. The good thing about working in a rural community is when you need a farm animal for a play, you can get one!!!  So we even had a live donkey with the Good Samaritan so he could load the injured man up on the animal and take him to the inn!  The kids absolutely LOVED it!!!

Every day we do a memory verse with the kids, and it is amazing how many kids are diligent in committing a Bible verse to memory and how excited they are to recite the verse!!!  Please pray that these pieces of God's Word take root in these children's hearts and lives!!!
