This week we have a wonderful mission team from Calvary
Christian High School!
We started Sunday morning with a WONDERFUL worship service with music led by some amazingly talented young adults! After our on-site orientation, we hit the ground running, working on finishing up home #17 and beginning the layout of home #18. The kids in the community bonded quickly with this team as they help set up a small “tent” so we could color in the shade! We even got to do some face painting and play some basketball!
We continued this morning with working hard on the homes! And pouring concrete!!! Despite the crazy heat this week, the Dominican crew has already put three roofs on in addition to working on additional foundations!
The neatest part of today was our time spent with the
kids. Our team prepared lessons for the kids
in the community based on some of the parables in the Bible. Today was the parable of the sower. You should have seen the kids’ faces as they
listened and watched intently as the team acted out the parable. As a little craft, the team brought down paper
cups and purchased dirt and flower seeds in Santo Domingo so the children could
plant some seeds in “good soil” and watch their little plant grow!
We are so thankful for the opportunities that the Lord has already given us to share Christ’s love and be His hands and feet! We can’t wait to see what He has in store for the rest of the week!
