We made it to the "extremely warm" (in other words HOT!) country of Nicaragua on Saturday. This week's team is from Living Waters Community Church in Bonita Springs, FL and Chet's Creek Church in Jacksonville, FL.
We attended church at Bethel Baptist Church where we participated in a wonderful worship service with our Nicaraguan brothers and sisters. We truly felt our Lord's presence through worship in music, dance, His word, communion, and fellowship. It was a truly worshipful and wonderful experience and were impressed with how even though we don't speak the same language, we were able to worship the same Lord.
After church we drove to the town of Masaya where we had a delicious lunch at a local fried chicken restaurant. We enjoyed seeing some of the interesting and colorful country-side as we traveled.
After lunch we visited and did some serious shopping at the artisan market. They have many beautiful hand made items. Bill, one of the team members, even had his tennis shoes repaired while he shopped! Then we were awed by visiting the very active Volcano Masaya. Upon our return to the hotel, we had dinner and then prepared for our "BIG" day tomorrow with the nursing home residents and the street children. We can hardly wait!
