This morning began with a birthday celebration for
Joy! It was a great way to start the
day. Even the wait staff at the hotel got involved, and we were able to surprise her with a
cake and a couple of handmade cards.
Then
it was off to the hardware store to gather supplies, and we were very surprised
to see so many “American” items. You would have thought that we were in an Ace Hardware in the States.
We were able to complete a project at
the nursing home AND love on the residents.
We were even treated to a sermon by one of them! They are very sweet and
loving. We love to hear them giggle
like children at the puppet show. It's such a wonderful sound. We still have a
couple days more with them. Tomorrow is
sure to be another adventure.
As we arrived at Bethel today, the children ran for the buses
to greet us. It was very exciting to see
them again. Today the language barrier
didn’t seem to be much of a problem at all as we did God’s work and showed His love.
The classroom time has been very rewarding, and we love that they ask so many questions.
It is very stirring to see God moving in these young ones! We met with 11 of the children that will be
baptized in April. It was very exciting
to see how many have accepted Christ and will be making it known publicly in a
short while.
I know we are not supposed
to, but I think each of us have a favorite child. It is just so hard not
to! Tomorrow will be a hard day as we
say good bye to our kids, helpers, and translators at Bethel. We all hope to come back and see them again!
