HAITI - Sunday 3/3/13

Another awesome team! FBC Eustis (Florida) has sent us some hard working teens, adults, and their youth pastor, and we have Gail and Wayne Parsons back from Tallahassee. We all went to church as usual, and the orphanage kids sang for us. Pastor Daniel gave a great message that was well received!

Then it was off to the site to get the roof going. Jonathan marshalled up a young crew that took on the perlins, while Bert worked with our Haitian crew on 2x6 joists in the storeroom.

Meanwhile the Parsons', Daniel and Austin formed up the slab for the water tanks.

We poured the slab last thing (photos tomorrow!). What an incredible amount of progress in just a half day!

The ladies and a couple of the guys went back to the orphanage after lunch and had a great time with the kids. One of the translators lent Josh a guitar, and the kids loved the music and singing. The usual hair braiding took place, which Ashley in particular had a hard time getting undone!

Tomorrow we hope to start getting the metal on the roof and frame up the porch. We will have Charles with us, and in the morning he and the ladies will visit the community across the street and invite the Haitian ladies to our now regular Bible study on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Lord is working us hard, but the needs here are great and we are focused on getting the first phase done. What a blessing to be able to serve Him here!
