HAITI - Monday 3/4/13

Our first full day began with an inspection of the Director's House water tank slab, which we poured last thing yesterday. Came out great!

After removing the forms, we rigged up our second tank under Jonathan's supervision and hoisted it up to the slab. Piece of cake!

Most of our youth spent the morning walking the neighborhood with Charles Junior, inviting the Haitian ladies to the Bible study later this week. Everyone was amazed at what they saw, and the warm greetings they got everywhere from people who have so little but are bright and happy anyway. Judging from the reception they got, we will have a great crowd again! We got more Bibles for them this morning, so we will be ready to hand those out on Wednesday. Then in the afternoon, we had a large team go over to the orphanage again, and they had a blast with the kids, learning lots of Kreole.

Meanwhile the roofing gang finished up the remaining half truss, put on both end walls and built birds' nests around the outside.

And the plumbing crew (Bert, Stephanie and the other girls) finished plumbing the first floor bath (adding connections for a wash tub) and then were joined by Wayne and started on the second floor baths.

We did not get our delivery of metal roofing panels, lumber or electrical wire today, but managed to be productive anyway, and now we're completely ready to do the porch and roof.

We continue to be blessed with good weather, sometimes with a little rain at night, and it was cloudy and cooler today at the work site. Tomorrow promises to be another wonderful day with many opportunities to serve our Lord!
