We started off our first day at Pastor
Edmond's church, where the children were in Sunday School when we arrived.
Then we were treated to some beautiful
singing, and prayers by the Haitian pastors, followed by our own Pastor Mike,
who gave a great message on missions, translated by Romano.
After church it was back to the work site
for a quick bite, and then the guys began to tackle the interior walls of Phase 1,
while the ladies returned to the orphanage to lead the kids in games and
songs.
while Jim cut blocks, and Pastor Mike worked on the wall on the other side.
He's turning into a real blocklayer!
Then the ladies came back and took a good break with Charles. They were
even more tired than the guys! Those kids can really wear you out!
But we completed all the 8" walls that were started on the last trip, and we will
begin on the 4" walls tomorrow. The guys are challenging themselves to get all
the walls up by Thursday afternoon!
Praise the Lord for a beautiful day, very
productive in every way, and for all of His provision for us. Tomorrow the
ladies will began their evangelism walks with Charles and Ronald John, and will
invite the ladies to another Bible study. Pray for a good response and for our
continued health and safety as we serve these beautiful children and Shine the Light of our Lord's grace in
this area where it is so badly needed!
