Guatemala, FBC Eustis

Thursday January 17, 2013

Today we stepped out on faith and said our goodbyes to the children at the Malnutrition Center…Believing, we will be back. And even though the WOW moments were far too many to list, I believe every “Moment” soaked in to our souls, and the memories of this week will never slip away.

Edgar, Odelia, Kelvin, Adelin, Thomas, Cindy, Benjamin, Erma, Andy, Flori, Christian, Ana, Victor, Thelma, Marvin, Erma, Billy…The list goes on and on. Every child gave us a “WOW” moment. Some made us cry, some made us laugh...Some made us hold our noses! J And each touched our lives in a very real and powerful way. We will miss them all, so much.

So why is it so hard to say goodbye? Have you ever wondered if you always answer that question truthfully?  Were you ever afraid, believing you will see someone again…was not enough? Do “what if's” ever creep in to your faith walk and haunt you?  “What if” your goodbye was forever and you never meet again? “If it’s God’s Will,” we say, but do we mean it? Even Peter cried out to The Lord with this struggle. “Lord, I believe, help me with my unbelief.” What? And he walked with Jesus!

I believe our FBC Eustis, FL “Go Team’s” commitment to missions has strengthened on this trip. We are all called to GO out into the world and tell people about the love of The Father and His son, Jesus. I pray the hope message we share always brings glory to God.

Luke 18:27 "And He (Jesus) said, the things which are impossible with men are possible with God."

Thank you, Howie, and Orphan’s Heart… for living the message Jesus preached.
