Wow... what else can we say? Beautiful, incredible, unbelievable, amazing, moving...
well you get the picture.
We arrived on Saturday and were introduced to the children the first day! We were so excited to see and meet them. They made our hearts happy. We might be few in numbers but we are mighty!
Sunday we were able to help feed breakfast, and then we traveled to Antigua for a wonderful day of sightseeing and shopping. Some of us zipped across a canyon, while others became experts on coffee. After an incredible morning, we enjoyed lunch at the most amazing McDonald's (yes, McDonald's). We walked through the cobble stone streets of Antigua and were constantly amazed at God's majesty all around us. We enjoyed seeing ruins and shopping at the market, and finished the evening with a wonderful meal at a local restaurant.
Today was truly amazing. Loving on children ALL day was wonderful. We are wondering how the Nannies take care of all these children. We loved being able to help feed the children dinner and then tucked them in for bed. Lots of hugs and kisses.
We enjoyed a "comida tipica" tonight.... carne asado con chismol, arroz con maize, frijoles voltiados, platano maduros con crema, ensalada, y tortillas. Que rico! Oh, and then the dessert was choco bananos and choco fresas. Que rico! Gracias, Odilia!
