HAITI - July 16, 2012

This was our first full day on the site, with the ladies and some of the young men doing a VBS with the kids at the orphanage in the morning. But before they went there, they distributed clothes to some of the neighbor kids that live right outside of our side gate.

The septic tank crew made forms to pour the large hatch for the septic tank.

And the block laying crews attacked the walls again.

We started getting lots of loads of sand, so one of the first things we did with it was to build up the area behind the director's house for its drain field by hauling the sand in wheel barrows and piling it up to the correct level. Talk about hard work!

And some of the sand was spread straight across to start building up the Phase 1 drain field.

Pastor Mark didn't realize how hard this would be on his boots, but as usual, duct tape came to the rescue!

We made a good start today, and the Lord blessed us with good weather again. It will be a hard week moving all that sand, but we have a strong team that is especially suited to the work. Praise the Lord for guiding us and providing us all we need!
