Haiti-May 17, 2012

Thursday, May 17

"Look at me, look at me, look at me NOW!!"

The team was absolutely determined to not only get the bond beam formed and wired up, but to actually pour all of it today before leaving. So another early start, and everyone took up where they left off yesterday. While the concrete team set up to start cranking out concrete, the rebar assemblies were finished and put up on the wall.

And then the pouring started at the corner of the bathroom.

And continued down the front wall.

The race was on to see if the concrete pouring team could catch the forming team, and that just made everything go faster. Finally the last plank was screwed in. NBC Baby!

And here it is. Unbelievable that this team could get this far this fast. They actually did two weeks work in one week: And they finished at 2:30! Time to get in a much deserved second visit with the children at the old orphanage on the way back to the house.

God blessed us so much this week, with good weather, health and safety for the team, and His provision every step of the way. And these men worked so incredibly hard to build the children a decent place to live. They truly "presented their bodies as a living sacrifice" in this work. Please pray for them all as they head back to the US tomorrow and a much-deserved rest. And please continue to pray for the teams that are coming, and that the Lord will continue to provide for us in every way as we continue to do His work.
