After yesterday's visit with the children at the orphanage, everyone was highly motivatd to get back to work. "We have to get those kids out of the dirt!" became our watchword, as we made another early start. Of course, Mike Wellborn had to start the day off right with a demonstration of how Haitians carry blocks, under the supervision of David.
Then we quickly broke up into groups. Blackie and one team started ripping down the plywood sheets to make forms.
And the rebar team went back to cutting and forming rings and rebar assemblies.
| While the block team finished up the 3 courses of block in the bathroom.
We also needed to cut and install conduit where there will be wires in the block walls.
| Then the forming of the bond beam began in earnest. |
.
| Switching to the outside to finish the forms.
| We actually found something that Pastor Jeff was not tall enough to do! |
| Almost done!
Tomorrow we will start to pour concrete in the forms on one end of the building
while we finish the forms on the other. The team thinks that they can actually
pour the entire bond beam tomorrow!
Praise the Lord for this team and for His provision of good weather, health and
safety. We have only had a couple of cases of upset stomachs and over-heating.
God has truely blessed this group in every way. Please continue to pray for us
as we finish up the week tomorrow.
