Only a few more hours and
then its almost over! We don't want it to end. We've had a great time here with
our new friends. Most of us have been called “Mama” or “Dada” at least once.
These kids have left huge marks on our hearts. We will never forget about them.
It's going to be sad to leave. Yesterday when we left all of the Squirrels (the
oldest children) came outside and waved goodbye to us. I think were all going
to cry having to say goodbye to our babies that we've grown to love as our own
children. Even though were young, we have developed parental holds over the
kids.
Yesterday after we left the
center we drove straight home. We showered and then went to a nice restaurant
for dinner. There was a live band there playing, and we all bobbed our heads
along to the music. They were very talented.
We're all reluctant to leave tomorrow. We have to leave our
hotel in Antigua at 5:30 in the morning. We've had a fantastic time here, and
have made friendships that will last! This experience has really changed all of
our lives, and helped us to mature in ways you couldn't even imagine. We've
grown in more ways than one, and have gained a sense of maturity we didn't have
before that will help some of us going into high school. We came on this trip
to change the lives of the malnourished, but it turned out that they were the
ones that have impacted our lives so greatly! We're gonna miss them ALL, and we
love them!
