The Morning started early with 6:45am breakfast followed by devotions and singing our National Anthem. Happy Independance Day from Guatemala with a temperature of a beautiful 70 degrees! The team has 30 people from various areas and we have quickly bonded together as a team. We traveled one hour to get to the Malnutrition Center. When we arrived at the Center we could hear the children's excited voices saying in Spanish, "They're here! They're here!!" The kids were as excited to see us as we were to see them! I first noticed how clean the Center is and how organized everything is. The people who work here are friendly and efficient with all their tasks.. (which are overwhelming!) There are 70 children at the Center as of this writing and 22 of them are babies. We bathe, dress, feed, play, hold and just love on these precious little ones. The older children have craft and play time and just love the personal interaction. On one hand your heart aches for them, that they are here, malnourished and away from their families. But, on the other hand you can see God's love for them and for us--that He ordained this Center to exist, that these children are here and that there are those to care for them and love on them. I give praise to God for getting us here safely, providing for our needs and giving us more than we deserve! Please pray for the children at the Center that they would become healthy and thrive. Pray that through this ministry, many will be saved and all the glory would be given to God.
