Report from Day one in Guatemala
Bienbenidos ir Guatemala! Hello friends & family, thank you all for the continuous prayers! please keep them coming. I couldn't be happier with the church groups that have come together for this trip including First Baptist Church of Lehigh, First Baptist of Chipley (Alison), First Baptist of Leesburg & Avon Park! We have already been learning their names and stories. I can already tell that our bonds will grow stronger and stronger as the week goes on. Today was our first day out and about so we traveled to The Filidalfia Coffee Plantation for a zip lining course.....it was awesome! Everyone who came did it without hesitation even though it just started raining once we walked out of the Dutch Military vehicles. As I sit here blogging about these past couple days I hear everyone behind me playing a card game called Killer.....we have about 12 young people sitting in Val Leclerc's room in a circle! During our Wow! Moment this evening (when we share what God has told or showed us today) we shared some awesome moments such as Jessie told us how she has anxiety about things and situations she can't control and zip lining happened to be one of those scary experiences but when she just let go and soaked up the beauty of Antigua, Guatemala around her and it brought her to tears....how amazing. I personally feel more connected to God in the midst of his creation so Guatemala couldn't be a better setting for me to feel the Lord surrounding me! We send you our love & smiles. Tomorrow will be our first day at The Malnutrition Center working with the children and we are all pumped! It's going to be an incredible day rain or shine....so bring it on God! Buenos Noches everyone and thanks again for reading. God Bless <3
