First Day at the Center
It was a hard day today emotionally & physically for everyone.....we were going none stop from the time we ate breakfast at 7 till we left the center at 4:30. I couldn't image how those workers manage throughout the day without all the extra hands from these team members! God is so gracious and has poured endless blessing in the center, in the lives of the workers, & in the lives of the missionaries that walk through those halls! It has already been an emotional day for some to the point where they can't even share with others what they've experienced without breaking down! I am so impressed with the dramatic changes in just 2 years and the wide variety of age groups.....we had 71 children & 32 missionaries (not including the small staff) to manage all those kids, talk about overwhelming.....it is evident that God is in this place! I was assigned to the Chicks & Bunnies which is the toddlers around age 1 or so. It was so odd to watch the children lay down on the floor and drink out of their bottles all by themselves- they have come accustom to being more independent because of the lack of hands being available, but at the same time my heart didn't break for them because in this culture they need to learn to do things for themselves regardless of how young they are. Some other big accomplishment for today was building 4 extra shelves for supplies because of the constant goods coming in, also we unloaded the countless luggage bags of supplies to count, separate, and store in the rooms. I will update you all on how much we brought in tomorrow.....it will blow your mind! I hope you guys enjoy reading this as much as I do writing it, your prayers are making a bigger impact than you can image and I wish you could see the things we have seen in the past two days- we love you all and thank you. Adios.
