BUENOS DÍAS from the Dominican Republic! Calvary Baptist
Church, along with friends from Kentucky, is ministering to the people of the
DR this week as we continue our community development project. After arriving
on Saturday, we quickly set to work setting up a medical clinic, dental clinic
and completing a new baseball field.
The medical clinic has seen more than 120 people and will
continue to help meet the medical needs of all the community members, young and
old. Many local residents have excitedly shown up to meet with our dentist and
learn more about dental hygiene.
The baseball field is a popular spot and many of the community
members have pitched in to help with the complete reconstruction of the field.
The original backstop was torn down and we have begun construction on a brand
new backstop, pitcher’s mound, bases and dugouts. This will be a place of such
joy and comradery for both the children and adults alike.
The team is having fun, jumping rope, blowing bubbles,
flossing teeth, treating illness and loving on the people of the DR. We are all
blessed to be here and serve God’s people!
