Anticipation
is in the Air
The entire Center is excited about the dedication of the new Canary room tomorrow! Our tiny Canaries will finally have room to spread their wings. (In case you aren't aware, the Canaries are our babies.) Many special guest will be at the Center tomorrow, so we're doing a little sprucing up!
Some new landscaping was
completed in the interior playground.
Lights were installed on the hill, so the Nannies will no longer have
to leave in the dark.
It was God’s
providence that an electrician was one of the volunteers on this trip.
A massive project that our team took on this week was cleaning out the supply room. The storage container, which was full of new beds
for the Canary room and many other donations, is now where the tools and much needed equipment for the maintenance and upkeep of such a large building will be housed.
With the tools out of the way, the craft room can now be expanded
so that materials and supplies used by teams with the children are more accessible.
IT'S GETTING THERE! |
The children have been delighted to act out Bible stories and learn
more about the love God has for all His children. The theme this week has been about being obedient to our
God who loves us so very much. So far
they have acted out the stories of Samson, Moses and
the Burning Bush, and the Golden Calf. (No children were injured during the reenactment of these
stories!) They also learned about Balaam’s
talking donkey. Tomorrow, they will
learn about Gideon’s obedience to God.
The children also enjoy making crafts to go along with the Bible stories.
Today the Nannies were treated to a tea party as a small reward for the awesome job they do each and every day. It is hard to describe the thankless job they
do, working 72 hours a week taking care of a room full of 10 – 18 children. The children obviously love their Nannies. You can see it in their eyes
and the way they react each time a Nanny enters a room. The rest of us respect and admire them
immensely. We all should reflect the
love of Christ as they do! The children
are not just kept clean and fed, but each one is truly loved.

Daycare children arrive each morning
and afternoon to our delight as they greet us with smiles and giggles. They are treated to Bible stories, crafts,
music and recreation with the help of our team members. These children are very bright and eager to
engage with us.
Donations are also being sorted,
inventoried and distributed.
Orphan’s
Heart makes certain the needs of the children and their families are met as
quickly as possible. The web site
describes the most needed items. Even
small donations help the children in a big way. Perhaps you would like to
contribute to this remarkable ministry.
The children still receive lots of hugs and food while preparations for the dedication are being completed.
