Guatemala Family Mission Trip July 19-25, 2014

Wednesday

God is good!  Day 3 for us and we have been blessed with amazing weather…and a gorgeous sunrise!  The team split for the morning…nine of us headed to the senior center to “hang” with the retired folks from the area.  Marvi led them in singing, dancing, crafts and even Simon Says!  We were also blessed to be able to visit the local market, which is not really a tourist destination and a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most of us.  Marvi’s love for the people of Guatemala, from the very young to the very old, is a blessing and a Christ-like example to all of us.

From a morning spending time with seniors in need of a little more love and attention, we headed back to the center to share some love and attention with some very young ones with similar needs.  Today’s pictures include more with the volunteers, and here are some quotes from the day…

“Today I had the privilege of feeding Maria, who is about 2 yrs old.  Her food came pureed to help her eat with a cleft palate.  She will have surgery to fix her palate on 27 July...please keep this little one in your prayers.  She ate as fast as I could get the spoon to her mouth!”

“Please keep Mario in your prayers as he is fighting pneumonia, and is having trouble keeping any food down.”
