FL Hospital is in the Building - Part 2

WEDNESDAY - 10/16

Canaries
A new baby, Sophia, was admitted to the Canary room.

Upon our arrival to the Center, Wilder was one of the Canaries who never showed any emotion.  He was all smiles today, and he stood up for the first time.

Irma's diet is still a work in progress; the Staff and the Nannies are very receptive to helping change her diet so that she can be healthy.

Baby Jessica worked with Kaci, one of our physical therapists, and she is now pulling up and standing.  Not so much with a smile, but she is doing it.

Ducks
The team had a major breakthrough with Samuel.  He is the oldest boy in the Center, and misses his family very much.  The guys in the group were able to sit and talk with him about his situation and encouraged him.  Please continue to pray for him.  Over the past few days, he is gaining trust in the team and letting them in to love him.

Jose is also making progress, he trusting more, moving around, and smiling.

Chicks
Even though this mission trip was the first for some on our team, they have already fallen in love with the children.  The team realizes that they should not get attached, but still you fall in love very quickly.

Gabi's smile just lights up the room.

Edwin is very sweet and playful.  All fifteen of the children are so adorable, and it will be very difficult to leave them.

Dolphins
Mynar is severely malnourished, but he has gained 2 lbs.  Please pray that he will be able to keep his food down and grow strong.  He has a sparkle in his eye, and a very sweet smile.

Luis was sent to the hospital yesterday because he was not eating well or growing.  Please pray that his parents took him there, and that he can grow stronger and come back to the Center.  He just wants to be held.  Pray that he will get better and find his smile.

Jeremias has grown so well, and is such a happier boy.

Carlos Enrique needs prayers that his diarrhea will stop; also thanks to the sponsor who might help play to have his eyes fixed.

Ingrid is doing well, and may graduate soon.

Maria has special needs, please pray for therapy and resources as she grows.

Please pray for Mario's lungs to clear up.  Thanks to Kari and Casey for all their hard work and dedication.

Squirrels
The Squirrels have been an overwhelming and fulfilling experience. The group goes through so many different emotions daily.  Maria Ascunion is moving around in her walker incredibly well.  She is strong and doing everything the other girls are doing.

Vilma and her sister Elvira are a tight bond with Maria, Kimberly, and Odelia.

The group received a new child named Sara who wants to be near the older girls because she has an older sister who she has to leave at home.

Lesvia decided to fold clothes.

Angela is happy to be in with all the gals, almost like a bridge child between the age groups.

Little Adelyn is a precious character with a darling laugh and loves to play.  She like to march in with her pink hightop baby shoes.

Evelyn is a little under the weather, but happy when she is held.

The most dramatic child of everyone is Rosario, very beautiful with a strong will, which will serve her well in the future.  She melts your heart with her piercing black eyes.

Anita is doing very well with the Squirrels.  She has a little upset tummy and seems to feel better.  The girls know their routine and are order centered.  The group got haircuts, played outside and did crafts of Jesus' life.  We loved on them and prayed over them.  At the end of the day we watched the Spanish "Dora" and everything was just fine.

Thanks to Lindsell, Blake, and Lorenzo for doing the boys haircuts, haircuts, and more haircuts. Also, Blake built a tire swing at the playground.

THURSDAY - 10/17

Thank you to Emily for face painting the children!  Let's just say we had a Center full of dragons, tigers, and lions!  All were a hit. The team was very intentional in showing the kids how much we loved their new faces.

The team mixed shaving cream and paint to create finger paint for fun time with the children.

Blake WD 40'd the entire Center's cribs...no squeaky cribs here!

Thanks to Marla and Mary for cutting the rest of the kids hair. Most of the children also participated in Spa day, that consisted of hair and finger nail cuts.

The team purchased a magic bullet for the Center, to help to puree the food for the children who have a hard time chewing their food.  It is a major hit, and quickly finding its use throughout the Center.

Mynor crawled for the first time today in the Dolphin room.

We would like to thank everyone for your prayers for Luis in the Dolphin room who returned back to the Center after his admission to the hospital.

Continue to keep all the children and the Staff in your prayers!
