Day
2 at the Center seemed to stay on schedule much better than yesterday. It
was very obvious that the team members were more familiar with their tasks and
the children continued to warm-up to each of the team members assigned to their
groups.
Jeremiah,
the little boy that was admitted to the Center last week, began showing
significant improvement yesterday and today. He drank two bottles of milk
at one point, and he is even beginning to respond to the people and things
around him. It is truly awesome to see a child make improvements.
Ellie,
one of the team members, was able to cut several of the babies’ hair and spend
some time with them. It was an interesting experience to say the least.
This
afternoon at the Center, there was a birthday party for a little girl by the
name of Madelyn. She is one of the children that was previously in the
Center but has since returned home. The children were given cake and ice
cream, and they got to take turns hitting a piñata and grabbing the candy after
it was broken.
It
was amazing to see that there is hope at the end of this long journey for these
precious children, and that with the guiding hands of Christ we can make a
difference in these children’s lives.
