HAITI - Sunday, February 10

Today started off like every trip, with church at Pastor Edmond's. The team had a chance to inspect the site first, and those that were here last year (can it actually be that long ago?), were amazed at the progress that has been made. Some of these same team members dug foundations and poured slabs last year and now there are buildings built upon their labor. But we all know that it is God who gives the growth.

There is now a well-attached roof on Pastor Edmond's church, thanks to the generosity of the January Kentucky teams, and if those who have been here before thought the singing was loud then, you should hear it now!

After church there was the usual hug-fest with the kids, and it appears that Brian has a new girl friend!

There was another milestone today: Jody Heil, who was actually baptized in our septic tank last year (before it was ever used, of course) had a chance to visit the tank again!

After church, the team got off to a racing start, with Bill and Andy building the leads on one end of the Director's house while others tore the metal roof off the depot end.

And then leads were started on that end while the other end wall was being filled in. All the mortar for the blocks and the concrete for the cells has to be hauled up in buckets, of course!

Meanwhile, the well, in its new house and with its new roof, was re-plumbed and a line run over to the water tower, and up to the tank, and back down again to the faucet that used to be attached to the pump. It will remain that way until we are ready for the lines in the bathroom.

Tomorrow we will run the electric line and fill the tank for the first time!

By the end of the day the wall at the end of the Director's house was already looking pretty good!

Tomorrow we will continue with the DH walls, continue running the water line over to the DH, and start on some wiring.

We have a doctor and two nurses with us who will begin screening the kids, and we will begin our neighborhood walks, inviting the ladies to Bible study on Wednesday and Thursday. The feedback that we are getting from across the road is that the community is overjoyed that anyone actually cares for them, and we are expecting great things from this ministry.

God continues to give us good health, good weather and beautiful fellowship, and we believe He will bless what we are doing and reveal His glory through it. We are all so thankful for the privilege of serving Him and the incredible blessings we get from it.

Come join us and experience those blessings yourself!
