HAITI - Monday, 2-18-13

This is a small team of only 5, and they didn't come in until Sunday afternoon, but they are experienced; most have been here before, and they are full of energy and enthusiasm!

We got to the site at 7am (even before Marc showed up!) and got right to work. First thing, of course, was getting the materials up on the second floor.

Then Blackie could not be restrained from starting the trusses, even though they weren't in the plan for this week,

while Marc and the other guys worked on the forms for the bond beam.

We ran out of tapcon bits, which slowed us down, but we should be ready to start pouring the beams tomorrow.
But the real treat today was delivering the wheelchairs and seeing the tears and joy of the two ladies who got them. We attracted a crowd of neighbors, too, amazed that someone cared enough to provide them!

We are also setting up for the ladies Bible study on Wednesday and Thursday. Our outreach continues, and has become one of the most important parts of our ministry here. We are so thankful that the Lord has sent us to be part of this!
