Guatemala, FBC Eustis

Sunday, January 13

Today was our day to explore the area.   We left the hotel in a truck with seats in the back with a ladder access. It was a scary ride up the mountain on rough roads.  Some toured a Coffee Plantation, others ziplined.  I was with the group that did seven short zips, with each one a bit longer and more breathtaking. It was exciting to fly through the air from perch to perch with skillfull catchers stopping us inches before the deck.  What an amazing way to see the beautiful countryside.

What a beautiful morning in Antigua. We woke up to the sounds of birds singing, and soon my favorite word for the day was AWESOME! I was in the group that did the two long zips across the breathtaking canyon. We spent the rest of the day enjoying the sights, the people, and the feeling that God was smiling with us. Today was awesome because God is getting us ready for the week ahead. We faced our fears of the unknown together, and grew stronger as a team so we can take on and savor all the upcoming adventures and challenges that tomorrow has for us. I can’t wait…Tomorrow is about the children.
