Everyone, including all the Squirrels, were so excited when SONIA MENDOZA came back for a visit on Wednesday! We knew her as 'Mendoza' before, because there were three Sonia's at the Center at one time; but now she is Sonia, because she has a new family and will soon have a new name! Sonia was an abandoned child with no parents, but Doctor Carlos has taken her into his home, where she is loved and has a mom and dad and three brothers, and is in the process of adopting her and giving her his name! We love happy endings! Praise God for His everlasting love!
We received a new little one in the Center on Thursday. Her name is JOSELIN; she is 13 months old and weighs only 10 pounds. It broke our hearts not only to see her frail condition, but also to see how painful it was for her mom and dad as they made the difficult decision to leave her. But she is now on her way toward healing and restoration, and it's the very best decision they could have made for her precious little life! After many tears, she finally began to take in some food from Cari, our pediatric feeding specialist, and with the help of a special bottle. Pray for little JOSELIN, that she would continue to eat and grow gain strength at the Center.
A great big 'Thank You' to Jami and Jesse for providing crib mirrors for the Canaries! They are a big hit!
We are looking forward to a continuing relationship with the children in the daycare, which is located below our new dormitory. This week our maintenance crew painted their area a bright, happy yellow and built shelves where their teacher can store her supplies, which we are happy to share with her! More pictures to come!
