Haiti Update - Wednesday, August 29

Haiti - Wednesday, August 29

We have had a busy couple of days!  After meeting with Pastor Edmond and children on Tuesday morning and inspecting the sites, we found everyone OK and very little damage.  Pastor Edmond has decided to move the children out of the old site and temporarily house them in two small buildings next to his church for more safety.  They will stay there until Phase 1 is completed in December.

We then visited MSC+ (the local Lowes/Home Depot) and bought wood and roofing panels for the new storeroom, and more 4" PVC pipe for the Phase 1 drain field. All the stuff was delivered today around noon, and we really had to hustle to get the roof on. We only got one layer of plywood on by 7pm, but we think it will be secure tonight until we can finish it tomorrow. We also bought the razor wire for the wall, and Marc and a Haitian crew will start installing it tomorrow and finish in a week after Ron and I have gone. Then we will have the level of security we need.

The Lord has continued to bless us with good weather, and the tap tap we have rented for transportation has, so far, held up. Please pray for us, the children and the project as we head into the home stretch of Phase 1. We hope to have the roof on by October, and we really need teams to come down and finish up the building interior.

Please come join us!
