Wednesday has been an amazing day. We divided into two groups, one group left in the rain to build a house and the rest of us went to take care of our babies.
We missed having the men with us they looked like "Daddy Day Care" when they were there. We were so busy with the children one little guy Luis Fernando had a 103 deg temp. He was so -sick he was put in quarantine.... I just want to hold him forever. He came to the center when he was 9 months old. He was so tiny they fed him with an eyedropper to keep him alive. He is now 2-1/2 and he cannot walk... I have prayed everyday for God to send him a physical therapist.
One of the ladies that joined our group is from Canada and her name is Sandra. She was able to tell Bible stories and sing songs in Spanish. What a beautiful blessing for the children.
Their day was business as usual, the children were loved, bathed, played with, and more importantly, each child was prayed over continually.
They men that went to build the house labored all day in the nonstop rain.
The house was completed in one day. The house was built for a single mother. She has a son and has been abandon by her husband. She also has adopted her niece because her sister had passed away. Her father donated a small piece of land by his lean-to home. Also living in this new home will be the woman’s elderly grandparents. Richard was able to go 5 homes close by and hand out Spanish Bibles and candy. The people were so grateful. Our men all came back so humble and deeply touched.
Jessica left the nursery and painted her heart out and still had to help with feeding and changing the babies. Robert survived the day without his sweet baby Maria. Brandie stepped in and helped with Maria in her spare time. Brother Brad can now suit up and change, feed, and dress any child. He was even caught doing double time because the need is so great.
