Dominican Republic Oct 22-29, 2011
Thursday/Friday
Ya se acabo! (It's already over)
Thursday was a bitter-sweet day with the kids. We had to say good-bye to all 319 of them. We think we have enough hugs to last us until our next trip... The children sang us a special song during chapel services and we participated with them...in English. The song was "Father Abraham." So cute to see all those arms and legs and heads swinging and to hear their voices as we praised our Jesus, together, in two different languages. We have discovered that Jesus' love is the same in any language. A smile, hug, kiss on the check, a laughter, and even a high five says so much. Thank you Lord for allowing us to be a part of the hope these children now have.
The men finished their project and Pastor Pablo was very excited to have an "addition" to the dining room This much needed area will be used to help so a few more children can receive the hope of Jesus Christ through this wonderful ministry.
Today was our excursion day. We traveled to the north coast and saw the beautiful beaches of the Dominican Republic. The team took a cable car to the top of the highest peak in the area and had a incredible view the coast. So breath taking...God's beautiful creation at His best! After visiting the malecon (ocean side park) we experienced the market in the downtown area of Santiago. Interesting....
God is so very good and we a all thankful for the wonderful and life changing experience that we've had this week. Thank you for ALL of your prayers...God was faithful!
Tomorrow we will be leaving the DR and are so very excited to see all our family, friends, and church family to share of our week's experiences.
Hasta Pronto Domincan Republic!
