Guatemala Family Trip, June 19-24

The Sweet Aroma of Christ in this place…
“For we are a fragrance of Christ to God amongst those who are being saved and those who are perishing” 2 Corinthians 2:15
We started Day One with a devotion encouraging us to be the hands and feet of Jesus while here in Guatemala. We descended on the Malnutrition Center—all 55 of us. The “young people” on the team outnumber the more mature members this trip. From the moment we saw the precious children we spent the day holding them, changing them, bathing them, feeding them, playing with them and loving them with the love of Christ. What a privilege it has been today to serve each one of them like Jesus would serve them! Because we are such a big team, we were able to give the children some much needed and desired one-on–one time. We were all WOWed by how quickly the “young people” engaged in caring for these children and how they melted with all the smiles, hugs and laughter.
We were humbled at the sweet aroma of Christ that oozed from each of the workers at the Center as well. These sweet women and one man come to serve and not to be served--every single day. They serve Jesus mightily. We are just so blessed to get to spend time learning from them and helping them care for these sweet children. God’s amazing love binds us together with all at the Center and wipes away the language barrier. We are all one in Christ and are quickly getting to know the children, the workers and each member of the team. We look forward with great anticipation to all the Lord will do this week in us and through us. Well done, God’s good and faithful servants.
