Servant of All! 5/19/11

Today was our last full day at the Center. No bueno!
We have so grown to love these children. We knew we would, but when it happens, it still overwhelms us.

I know that many of the blog followers are looking for updates on specific children, so I´ll attempt to update you!

In the Canary room:
Manuel is still smiling and waving at everyone who walks into the room.
Samuel is getting stronger, although he has a long way to go.
Wendy is doing well after her shots and is looking very healthy.
Azucena and Marta, the twins, have been sick, but were getting better today.
Veronica and Brayan, the other twins, are doing so great and also had shots yesterday.
Telma is still having trouble adjusting, but is eating well.
Juana is finally over her battle with diarrhea. She ate well today.
Alex (Wilson's little brother) is doing well. He is tiny for a 4 month old, but is getting stronger every day.
Daniel Estaban had his 1st birthday today! We celebrated with him, complete with a birthday hat! He is always smiling.
Daniel is doing well.
Rosa is looking quite healthy...that means chubby! Love it.
Vilma is always so happy and eating so well.
Cindy is still very small, but is doing well.
Delila is eating well.
Lidia is still very small. She is very solemn, but we know she is content. Brooke W. says she is a ´faker´. Hahaha!

Bunnies:
Gerson and Andres are still laughing! They are fantastic!
Jose Guadelupe is a little sick, but should be fine.
Caty is precious and should be getting ready to go home soon.

Chicks:
Luis Fernando is sweet, but still small. We are trying to give him exercise to work his muscles.
Maria Marily is beautiful and sweet...and a bit of a bully with the toys!
Nataly is lovely and mischeivous all at once.
Maria Asuncion (the before and after pic from Tuesday) is so beautiful and healthy.
Santos is so handsome and healthy. His eyelashes will get him far!
Wendy is lovely and healthy. She is growing well.
Billy is still so small for his age, but he is so very happy and well adjusted.

Squirrels and Ducks:
This is a great bunch of children.
Most of the boys have been sick for the better part of this week. Still, they are playing and interacting in their rooms. They have bonded with several of our team.
Steve Shouse has especially bonded with Jairo and Miguel. They even got a cool handshake!
Nanci and Carolina are little princesses, and are doing well.

We wanted to make today a special day for the nannies, so Kim and Beth arranged for Pollo Campero to be brought in for lunch and purchased some gifts and roses for them. After lunch, Beth finished up her study of Ruth with them. She has done an amazing job of speaking Truth to them each day. Today the Lord blessed in a mighty way--as a culmination of the study, Beth felt led to show these lovely women what it is like to be served, and to thank them for being such servants. Melissa, Beth and Kim had the pleasure of showing Christ´s love to these ladies by washing their feet. It was indescribable. They were shy and embarassed at first, but we were able to pray over them as we washed and they were grateful.
We presented the nannies the dozen roses and a gift bag. Beth did a great job of expressing how much she loved them and that their Heavenly Father loves them even more. I am so grateful to have been a part of that experience.

God´s hand is on the work of the San Juan Malnutrition Center. His love for us is overwhelming.
