What a great day at the San Juan Malnutrition Center!
God has surely blessed us this week. Today, 10 of the younger children travelled to the San Juan Clinic to receive immunizations. 5 of our team members went to the clinic to assist with the babies. It was an educational and emotional experience. Somehow, they all became ´mommas´ and really hated to see the little ones crying-but they all made it through!
After that emotional ride, little Samuel´s parents came to visit him. (Samuel is in the Canary Room, for those of you keeping up.) To see this baby long for his mother and to see her long for him is an experience like none other. His parents are sacrificing their own feelings in order to give him the best care. We can´t even comprehend how difficult this must be.
It was so fun, also, to see more of the children receive haircuts. The girls just feel so pretty! It´s precious.
The weather was so wonderful in the afternoon, we all put some blankets outside, and took the Canaries, Chicks, and Bunnies (babies and toddlers) outside for a little tummy time and Vitamin D. They loved it.
The construction/ home building crew had an amazing day. They were overwhelmed with the gratitude of this sweet family receiving this home. In two days, they built a 16x12 corrugated steel structure with a concrete slab floor. In addition, the house includes an indoor stove with a flu. This is a tremendous blessing for this family of 3. We are so grateful to have been a part of the fantastic way God worked with this family.
Looking forward to another day!
