Final Day at the Center

It is so hard to believe that the week is drawing to a close for us. So many wonderful memories to take with us! Today we were at the Malnutrition Center in San Juan for the last time. It was so very hard to leave the children behind but we all know that we have a sense of accomplishment and know that we have joined with Jesus in loving these children this week. How easy they are to love!

Much has been accomplished here and we are honored to be a part of such a wonderful ministry that is changing lives for the better in Guatemala. The people have such a sweet spirit and the needs are so desperate! It is heartwarming to see firsthand the progress being made here.

One little girl that stole my heart this week is Rosaura, she turned one year old yesterday and weighs no more than 9 pounds. She is too precious for words and was happy and smiling all day today. I learned this morning that when she arrived at the Center in March that she weighed 3 pounds at 9 months old and had to be fed by a medicine dropper. Her smiles tell the story.

This week, we were privileged to serve by building a house for a single mother and her 4 children, doing repair projects at the center, and most importantly, smothering 55 children with love.
