Loving the Children Doesn't Stop When They Leave!

Today our team was blessed by experiencing a special monthly event at the Malnutrition Center.  The family of each sponsored child who has gone home from the Center gets to return and receive about 40 pounds of food to help supplement the child’s diet.  One basket includes:

    5 lbs rice

    5 lbs beans

    5 lbs oatmeal

    5 lbs of sugar

    Cooking oil

    Tomato sauce

    Mixed pastas

    Cereal

    Soup mix

    3 dozen eggs (from our own chicken coop!)

    Vitamins

    Toiletries

    An afghan

    A knitted cap

    Small toys

Before receiving the food bags each child was weighed, measured and evaluated by the medical staff.  

Parents also received training from the Social Worker in proper hygiene techniques, and everyone heard the Good News that Jesus loves them and has a wonderful plan for their life!  

Team members played with and loved on the children.

We even provided haircuts to families who wanted them.  

Forty-two families came by bus, tuc-tuc, or walked.  

LUIS FERNANDO CAME FOR HIS FIRST VISIT AFTER GOING HOME

It was quite a sight watching the women leave with their heavy packages balanced on their heads! 

We promised you some FIRSTS this week.   The very FIRST sponsored child returned to visit the Center.  

One tiny visitor received his very FIRST hair cut.

Christ is still very much FIRST in all our hearts as we serve Him in many different ways around the Malnutrition Center.
