NICARAGUA - June 19, 2013

El Hogar Senil is a nursing home in Managua that was founded by the Nicaraguan Baptist Convention over 75 years ago.  This week we have had the privilege of ministering to and loving on the residents.  This is a wonderful ministry that the NCB offers to senior adults who have no family or have been abandoned.

Our team has been encouraging the residents with song, testimony, and companionship this week.  The facility needs much TLC and the guys have been able to help with some much needed repairs and general “fixing up.”

One of the highlights has been Pricilla’s ministry with her autoharp as she leads the group in Spanish choruses and hymns.   The children on our team have been an added “therapeutic” blessing to the residents as they visit and interact with them.

Today we said good-bye to our special friends at Bethel Baptist Church and the Samuelito ministry.  We were treated to a special good-bye celebration complete with a beautiful interpretation of Christ’s love through a mime.  We were thrilled when we had 176 children on our last day.  We pray that God will continue to use this ministry as He is changing the lives of these precious “street” children one heart at a time.

Our prayer is that God will call YOU to be part of a team to Nicaragua, and we can continue to encourage and support this vital ministry.  Sign up today!
