There are now around 92 children (praise God!) being cared for and loved, so naturally we were overwhelmed--but in a totally good way!
Let me just say up front: There is no way that I will be able to get all of the stories of all of the team members into this blog. But I’ll try my hardest!
The first thing that the people who had been before noticed were the ways that the children are getting healthier and developing as kids should. Something really awesome that I noticed was that Maria Asuncion (in the Chicks) has been using her walker more and more. She also did a great job playing on the playground and climbing up and down the ladder to get to the slide. It was such a blessing to see her becoming so confident in getting herself around. It’s also been a joy to see the Canaries grow and get healthier. There are still a few who are seriously malnourished, but it’s an encouragement to see the success rate of the Center and know that those new babies are going to be alright.
Some things that you can be in prayer for:
--that the team gets into the swing of things and finds where they can serve in the best way possible;
--that we will have the energy and patience to care for 92 children;
--that we will all be able to stay healthy;
--and finally for all of the kids to be blessed by what God is doing here through us and the workers who serve here day in and day out.
I can’t wait to see what this week has for us!
