Dominican Republic

Greetings from the Dominican Republic!  Our team this week is serving in Santo Domingo – the oldest continuously inhabited European settlement in the Western Hemisphere.  Today we had the opportunity to experience a taste of all this beautiful country has to offer – a rich history, beautiful, joyful people and an exuberant body of Christ!

We started our morning at Sunday school at Iglesia Fundamento Biblico serving the youth.  Our team shared special music with some of the classes while others were able to help feed all the children that attend the church.  Iglesia Fundamento Biblico is located in a very poor district of Santo Domingo and takes every opportunity to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of its neighbors.  After an amazing worship service the team ate lunch along the Malecon (the coastal area of Santo Domingo) with Pastor Castillo and his family.  Then it was off to the Colonial District!  We toured a fort, walked the streets where Christopher Columbus walked, and toured a cathedral dedicated to many of the individuals that shaped this beautiful country.

We are excited to see all the Lord has planned for this week as we continue to serve some of the poorest areas of Santo Domingo with Iglesia Fundamento Biblico!
