We started off the day as usual at Pastor Edmond's church. When we arrived, Sunday School was just ending up, with adults on one side and kids on the other.
The service started with singing, and it was especially good this morning, as there were more adults there than usual. These people really know how to make a joyful noise unto the Lord! Not at all like our anemic singing at home.
During the service, one of the church member's little girls (not an orphan) glommed on to Alvin and wouldn't let go.

Then after church we walked back to the site and got to work. Our three young men formed up a team immediately to start the wiring, with Burl as their leader.

Aden, Layne and Benjamin took right to it and were soon pulling wire and putting in boxes like professionals. Hunter was the designated concrete block wall box installer, tasked with screwing boxes into the block walls where Burl had marked their location (not an easy job!).
Meanwhile, Donny was everywhere, showing us how install the bathtub in the downstairs bathroom, fixing the leak in the water tank and installing the line down to the first floor kitchen, and planning and starting the hatch up to the roof and the flashing to keep water from the slab from getting in. Then he started installing the windows! Truly a jack of all trades.
Another really awesome crew, with just the right skills and muscle for the jobs at hand. The Lord ALWAYS provides, especially now as the work is getting more complicated and varied. We are all looking forward to a week of hard work and fun with the kids. Please pray for our continued health and safety, and that we can get the needed work done in order to move the kids over before rainy season begins. And...
plan to come down and help us!
