Wednesday - even the overcast skies could not dampen the Team's spirits as we enjoyed another day of laughter with the children. Today was a day of celebration for many reasons. We began the morning with Nancy, Sandy and Kathy wishing Ron a Happy Birthday with some impressive "Rockette" kicks!
A great verse for today is Luke 12:48. When a man has been given much, much will be expected of him; and the more a man has had entrusted to him the more he will be required to pay.
All of us on this trip would agree that we have been blessed with much. We all feel grateful that we have been allowed to make this trip and are thankful to be allowed to share some of what we have been given. This may be monetary, service, love, talent or many other forms that will show this week.
Some of the activities and thoughts that were shared with us today are included in this Blog. The Ducks and the Squirrels learned to sing Happy Birthday in English and performed it for Ron using their newly made maracas and horns made from our recycled water bottles. Their parade was enjoyed by all, especially the younger children.
The Chicks made fruit loop necklaces, which were very pretty and also a great snack. They also enjoyed playing with balloons that Kathy and Karen had to have help blowing up.
Olivia told the Canary workers some background about some of the babies so they were able to try some simple therapy to help with some of their problems. Their new little girl Gabby also smiled today and walked around engaging with the other canaries. Also, the men of the team visited and especially made Dana smile as they helped the nannies.
Frances and Rebecca were both excited that Henry (their newest Bunny) interacted with them and the other Bunnies today. He also seemed happy. The Bunnies were also very generous and shared their toys with the Chicks by tossing them over the rail!
Thank God for these great blessings!
