while the DH crew did the last few cells with concrete and rebar. One group headed over to Pastor Edmond's to visit the kids there, while the medical team and some of the guys headed over to Pastor Felix's to finish up there and visit his kids. When we got there the kids were still eating their breakfast of labouilli, and the washing was going on.
But then it was open season!
We always enjoy these visits, the kids are so loving and crave contact with us, which of course we are happy to give!
Back at P1, the Bible study was again packed with 100 ladies, most with their kids, and Pastor Andy was very willing to share with them, along with Pastor Villebrun from next door, who also invited them to his church.
After the study, we again handed out Manna Packs.
And Dr. Abbi, back from Pastor Felix's, found himself drawn into triage at an open air clinic.
We are SO looking forward to the time we will have a real, fully equipped clinic for this!
Bill and Andy were able to get the main wall in the big bathroom well established,
so we took the afternoon off and went up on the mountain to the overlook at Boutillier. This also gave the team a good look at more of the city and a wider range of living and working conditions.
What a wonderful week! The Lord gave us wonderful weather, cool at night, great fellowship, health and safety, and led us to serve Him in multiple ways that will further the Kingdom in ways we don't even suspect. Yes, we did some great construction and yes, we ministered to the beautiful orphans of two orphanages and yes, we provided much needed medical help to many who don't have access to it and yes, we led ladies in the Word and in prayer and singing; but we also know that the most important thing we did here was to spread hope and light in an area where there is none. We are establishing a relationship with the community that is precious in His sight, and we are getting more and more feedback through our Haitian crew that these people are immensely grateful that someone cares for them. We are so privileged and blessed that we can be part of the Lord's work of dispelling the darkness here and filling it with His light.
