Christmas is right around the corner and the signs are everywhere in the center. There is a tree in the lobby and a small tree in the new Comedor. Today, a church group came to bring knitted hats for all of the children; they all look so adorable in their hats. They brought Santa Clause along as well. He brought cupcakes for the older kids to eat….or smear icing from ear to ear.
In the Canaries, the older children are growing faster than we can take pictures to track them. The newest additions are getting used to life at the center; they are all eating well and stealing hearts left and right. Today, they were all playing and having a grand time.
The Bunnies, Chicks, Ducks and Squirrels are all up to their usual antics; however, today they had fun busting a piñata again. They each took turns swinging at the piñata until it eventually showered them in candy of all sorts and flavors. They really enjoyed their visits with Santa today as well. I think the cupcakes were a bigger hit than Santa.
Today, some of the Ducks received haircuts and the rest will get their turn tomorrow.
