Today we arose excited and rested to start on our journey to "FINISHING IT."
Anda, a wonderful young woman joining Orphan's Heart as an intern this summer, led our devotional today. She began with a passage from Psalm 56, and verse 3 ("When I am afraid I will trust in thee") was a reminder to trust God with the unknown. Anda encouraged us to cherish each moment God would give us today.
Abigail, our Guatemalan volunteer, joined her third OH team this morning. Abby just graduated from high school and is studying for her university entrance exams. What better way to spend some of her summer vacation than to spend it helping with little children!
When we arrived at the Center, we were immediately greeted by many little ones wanting hugs. I quickly was drawn to Micaela, who arrived on my trip last August. She was a testimony to me today that all of this is truly important and what is going on at the Center works. She is well on the road to being healthy.
We had a tour of the Center and there have been many changes in the past 10 months. The playground is a wonderful addition to life at the Center. It was such a joy to hear the laughter of the children playing.
The chicken coop is full now, with chickens laying many eggs.
The facility has been completed to host teams who wish to stay there. The dorms will allow teams to spend more time with the children and staff, which will build on those relationships and hopefully be a better witness. We had lunch in the dorm's kitchen today, and it was a great set-up.
At the close of each day we gather to share reflections of our day - our "WOW!" moments. We call them that because they are the moments we saw God in a mighty way.
We are all very tired, but we'll be up bright and early tomorrow to go back and see how God will use each one of us!

We are having such a great time on showing love to the kids.
