HAITI - March 2

Haiti - Friday, March 2

Today was our last day, a day of completion, a day of encounters, a day of thankfulness for being able to experience God our Father at work in ways only He can.  We began by completing the Pastor House interior walls, and even a little more on the front.  We thought we would have to actually restrain Alan from doing the ENTIRE front of the house instead of leaving part of it open for a work area when our shed is gone.  We blocked up what will be a door into a large bedroom but for now is part of our secure storage room.  It can be easily removed later.

We had a short break for fresh coconuts and sugar cane that Pastor Edmond had his Haitian friends bring us.

The foundations are almost done and require only a layer of gravel, the plumbing and remesh before they can be poured next week.

And finally, the LAST BLOCK is laid!  Also, here is the entire team, with two of our very hard working Haitian helpers, David and Joseph.

And here is the "finished" product (finished for now!).

Finally, the whole team got to go visit a neighboring orphanage run by Pastor Felix. One little boy, Fritz, grabbed onto Melissa, and we were afraid he would not let her go!

Such beautiful children!  We are heartbroken that more cannot be done for them and for all the children who are not even in an orphanage and can be seen on the streets.  But we are resolved to do all we can where the Lord leads us, and some of our guys are already talking about coming back in a few weeks to block up the Phase 1 buildings!

May God be praised for all these team members who were willing to leave family and friends and step out on this trip, not knowing where it would lead them,
BUT GOD...
...knew who he wanted on this trip; provided the perfectly balanced team to be in the right place at the right time,
...saw that His glory was shown above all,
...blessed all involved with experiences they will never forget,
...turned ordinary folks into powerful missionaries,
...will not let the seeds He has planted go unharvested.
Praise His Holy Name!

**Special Note: Please pray for this team as they travel home, for the team coming next week and for all their families; their communities have been ravaged by the strong storms passing through Kentucky and neighboring states, and already some family members have been injured.
