Uganda Mission Trip 2011

Sunday, August 14, 2011
“Lord willing…”
This phrase became the team’s motto for the week in order to keep from making promises we may be unable to keep in the future.
“Are you coming back to Uganda? …Lord willing.”
“We plan to do ___. ...Lord willing.”
“Next time can you bring ___? ... Lord willing.”
“Can you stay longer? …Lord willing.”
“Bring more visitors with you! …Lord willing.”
There were many times in the midst of ministering that we would have loved to make promises, however, none of us are guaranteed a tomorrow. Team members learned that we have to live out each day where God places us, with the resources we have in order to meet immediate needs. Here those resources were limited, but needs were great. Planning and future trips are definitely necessary for many areas. These are some of the critical needs, both physical and spiritual, that we found:
• Clothes
• Shoes
• Food
• Medicine
• Hygiene items
• Construction
• Evangelism
• Spiritual warfare
• Jobs
• Sponsorships for the children
• Katherine & her ministry
• The growing Muslim influence
• And the list goes on and on and on…

As we wrapped up the fencing project and home visitations on Thursday, exhausted, but blessed beyond words, team members were thankful for the opportunities to be the hands and feet of Christ throughout the week. Although at this point all were anxious to get home to family, friends, and the familiar things of America, we will carry the memories of Uganda in our hearts forever.

Stay tuned to the FBCH website and Orphan’s Heart for further opportunities to join in trips, sponsorships, and other ministry opportunities. We can all be a part of God’s plan in Uganda... “Lord willing!”
